PRACTICAL
In practical, students should be able to set up LAN, WAN, WLAN. They should be able to configure network
hardware and network software. Lab exercises are follows:
Unit-2 Types of networks, Unit-3 Network topologies (12 Hours)
2.1. Install network interface card and various network devices like hub, switch, router etc.
2.2. Perform cabling
Unit-4 Network architecture and devices (30 Hours)
4.1. Setup peer-to-peer networking
4.2. Install and configure server for client server networking

Unit-5 Introduction to OSI reference model (35 Hours)
5.1. Be familiar with basic network commands: Observing IP address and MAC address, Setting IP
address and default gateway in PC, Verifying network layer connectivity
5.2. Configure DNS and e-mail server
5.3. Sensitize with existing network system
